Hotel Neuvice
Historic boutique with modern interior design. Quiet, intimate, independent. The kind of place an architecture-obsessed local would point you to.
The top-floor room (3rd floor, stairs only) is the quietest and slightly cheaper — worth it if you travel light
Why It Matters
Listed on both the Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels, and ranked #1 of 20 hotels in Liège on TripAdvisor. The property occupies a genuinely historic building — once a printer's workshop — with breakfast served in actual 15th-century wine cellars. Twelve rooms only. The wooden walkway courtyard connecting three 18C buildings is genuinely unusual.
A 12-room boutique hotel spread across three 18th-century buildings on En Neuvice — the oldest pedestrian street in Liège — linked by a wooden walkway around a green inner courtyard. The building was originally the residence and workshop of printer Jean-François Bassompierre. Contemporary design sits cleanly inside original architecture: custom sanded oak and steel furniture, Belgian cotton linen, and original art on the walls. Breakfast is served in Bassompierre's actual atelier, built into two restored 15th-century wine cellars, with organic, locally sourced products from artisans in the Historic Center.
