Hotel Petrus
Upscale family-run Alpine boutique with a handcrafted, nature-forward aesthetic. Clean design sensibility meets warm South Tyrolean hospitality. Think handmade ceramic plates, interiors built with local craftspeople, and dried herbs hanging above the restaurant table.
The Kaminstube's Thursday 7-course menu by chef Youssef Farsane is the standout dinner — book ahead, it's small
Why It Matters
Two award-winning restaurant concepts under one roof, a design-forward spa called the Dohòame that draws on Swiss pine forest materials, and a family ownership ethos that shows up in the details. The Petrus.Restaurant won the German Design Award 2025. The Kaminstube holds 3 Gault Millau toques and 88/100 from Falstaff. Produce comes from the hotel's own vegetable farm, Lechnerhof.
A family-run boutique hotel in the South Tyrolean Dolomites, right on the doorstep of Plan de Corones (Kronplatz). The Aichner family — parents Gerti and Hans, plus daughters Brigitte, Christina, and Daniela — run the place themselves with a team of 44. The newer rooms and suites lean into cool blonde wood and clean minimalist lines that stand apart from the typical Alpine lodge aesthetic. There is a serious kitchen, a genuine spa with Swiss pine at its heart, and 500 metres standing between you and the ski cable car.
