Why It Matters
The building itself is the main event. Designed by Amsterdam firm Arons en Gelauff, the Pontsteiger structure was conceived to maximize the upper floors (for residents' views) and lower floors (for city interaction), creating a distinctive pinched silhouette on the IJ waterfront.
