Why It Matters
Iris Bettinger has held a Michelin Star for 12 consecutive years (as of 2024), cooking modern French cuisine with strong regional and international influences. She trained at Hotel Colombi in Freiburg and Käfer-Schänke and Mandarin Oriental in Munich before taking over the family property in 2007. The gourmet restaurant seats just 16 guests and opens only Wednesday–Saturday evenings. The Gastwirtschaft Ferdinand next door picks up the slack for casual lunches and bistro dining, also earning Michelin recognition.
Family-run since 1894, Hotel Restaurant Reuter is now in its fourth generation under chef-owner Iris Bettinger. The hotel itself is modest and genuine — 35 individually furnished rooms in a historic town center building. But the real reason people make the journey to Rheda-Wiedenbrück is the 1 Michelin Star Restaurant Reuter, one of the most decorated kitchens in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe (OWL) region, plus a second on-site restaurant, the Gastwirtschaft Ferdinand, which holds the Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Classic Double Room
Double or twin-bed rooms with individual character. Classic category rooms are comfortable and clean — straightforward in style. Comfort Double Room
The step-up double category, referenced in the hotel's flagship Reinschmecker arrangement. Air-conditioned (noted by Tablet Hotels) and more elegantly appointed than the Classic tier. These are the rooms Iris Bettinger pairs with the 5-course gourmet dinner package.
Deluxe Double Room
Top tier double room. The site lists three categories of doubles — Klassik, Komfort, and Deluxe — with Deluxe being the most spacious and well-appointed. Exact sizing not published on the website; contact the hotel directly.
Hotel Apartment
Three modern apartments in a newer building wing, designed for longer stays. Each comes with a small kitchenette. Spacious and a step above the standard hotel rooms in terms of independence. Must be requested directly — not prominently featured online.
Single Room
Individually styled single rooms decorated in either warm red tones with custom-tailored furniture or a bright white-and-grey palette with design pieces by COR and interlübke — both local Rheda-Wiedenbrück furniture makers. Each has a private bathroom with shower and WC, flat-screen TV, and free WiFi. Breakfast included. Pets allowed for €12/night.

The 'Denkbar' conference room is 99 sqm, divisible into two separate rooms, with design lighting and seats up to 80 people. Used for workshops, seminars, and corporate events. Culinary packages from both restaurants available.
The hotel is a certified bett+bike station directly on the Ems-Radweg (200m away) and Werse-Radweg. Bike storage and drying room provided at no charge. Luggage transfer to/from adjacent accommodations available. Bike rental can be arranged. Fahrrad-Reparatursets (repair kits) available to borrow.
