Hotel San Fernando
Art Deco meets modern Mexico City apartment living. Warm, design-forward, and neighborhood-rooted. Think Wes Anderson color palettes crossed with genuine Mexican craft. Intimate, residential feel with no corporate polish.
Ask for a room not facing Iztaccihuatl Street if you're a light sleeper — Friday and Saturday nights get loud
Why It Matters
Awarded 1 Michelin Key in 2024. Bunkhouse's first Mexico City property and only the group's second in Mexico. Every design decision — from Oaxaca-made bedside lamps to art by Pedro Friedeberg — is a deliberate nod to the city's creative culture. Rates include complimentary rooftop breakfast.
Hotel San Fernando is a 19-room boutique hotel inside a lovingly restored 1947 Art Deco apartment building in La Condesa, half a block from Parque México. Austin-based Bunkhouse Group and local firm Reurbano kept the bones — encaustic tile floors, stained-glass windows, a geometric staircase — and layered in punchy coral walls, lush plants, and locally sourced furniture from La Metropolitana. The whole place is designed to feel like settling into your own Condesa apartment, not checking into a hotel.

Amenities & Practical Info
The details that matter for planning.
Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property.
Guests can borrow large straw shopping bags for market trips and umbrellas from the lobby — the latter essential during rainy season (May–October).
Refillable Malin + Goetz products in all guest bathrooms — a sustainable touch noted by reviewers.
Minibar stocked in all guest rooms.
In-room white noise machines provided in all rooms — helpful given proximity to a lively bar and restaurant street.
Two event venues available: the Rooftop Terrace (up to 40 guests, dividable) and Lounge Fernando. Suitable for intimate gatherings or corporate meetings.
The hotel does not have a swimming pool, fitness center, or spa. The neighborhood itself — with parks, cafés, and walkable streets — is the draw instead.
An outdoor terrace at the top of the building used for complimentary guest breakfasts each morning and as an event space. Can accommodate up to 40 guests for private events and is dividable. Open to guests in the evenings for drinks.
No elevator in the five-story building, but a dumbwaiter is available for luggage between floors.
Daily room cleaning service included with stay.
On-site concierge for neighborhood recommendations, reservations, and local guidance.
Round-the-clock front desk staffing. Physical room keys (no key cards).
A curated in-hotel shop selling Mexican-made wares from local artisans, handpicked homewares, and exclusive Bunkhouse-designed pieces. Part of the lobby experience, also available online.
