Why It Matters

Denver's original boutique hotel and AAA Four Diamond property. Westword's 2025 Reader's Choice Best Hotel Restaurant (The Nickel). No pool or on-site spa, but arguably the best location in the city for theater-goers — the performing arts complex is literally across the street. Conde Nast Traveler Top Hotels in Colorado #3 in 2023.

Hotel Teatro is a 110-room boutique hotel in a beautifully restored 1911 Renaissance Revival building that originally served as Denver Tramway Company headquarters. The grand wall-to-ceiling marble lobby and dramatic gray-veined marble staircase have been preserved, while rooms got a modern refresh with bespoke oak wardrobes and contemporary furnishings. It sits directly across from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts — theater costumes, including one worn by Annette Bening, hang on the walls.
