Huilo Huilo Montaña Mágica is a luxury lodge shaped like a small volcano, covered entirely in native jungle foliage, with a manmade waterfall cascading down its exterior walls and hobbit-hole windows peering through the moss. It sits inside the 100,000-hectare Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve in Chilean Patagonia, part of a UNESCO-recognized biosphere, and is widely considered one of the most architecturally extraordinary hotels in South America.

Five rooms tucked into the middle section of the 'mountain' structure. Small, cozy, and completely clad in native wood — everything from the ceiling to the furniture. Private bathroom included. No TV. Hobbit-hole windows look out onto the surrounding forest. The rooms are deliberately minimal: the idea is that you're sleeping inside a living mountain, not a conventional hotel room.

Four larger rooms at the lower level of the mountain structure — these are the biggest rooms in the lodge. Same all-native-wood aesthetic as the Standard, but with a private bathroom that includes a full bathtub rather than just a shower. Can be configured as double or twin, and can accommodate a baby crib on request. If you're going to splurge on this property, this is the room to book.

The reserve is home to the pudú (world's smallest deer at just 13 inches tall), puma, Magellanic Woodpecker, Darwin frogs, Monito del Monte (a tiny marsupial), and guanacos. The Forest of Deer park is directly adjacent to the hotel complex and viewable from the grounds.
