Why It Matters
Part of the Michelin Guide selection and listed on Tablet Hotels, HUP is a rare breed — a 4-star property where the sporting facilities rival a dedicated sports club. Almost everything is included in the room rate: gym, pool, saunas, squash, golf simulator, mini-golf, interactive football wall, cinema, and Monkey Town indoor playground. Bowling is the notable exception and costs extra.
HUP takes its name from the rallying cry Dutch football fans shout at the national team, and the hotel lives up to it. This is, genuinely, the sportiest hotel in the Netherlands — 10,000 m² of sports and leisure space packed into one property in the North Brabant countryside. Tennis, squash, basketball, indoor football, a golf simulator, a bowling alley, a pool, three saunas, a kids' cinema, a football museum: it's all here. The outside looks a bit dated (guests note this too), but inside it's energetic, colourful, and almost aggressively fun.
