Ignacia Guest House
Mexican artisan craft meets contemporary architecture. Warm, residential, design-obsessed. Feels more like staying in a very stylish private home than checking into a hotel. Every suite has its own color story and personality.
Hot tub access is only for Terraza 1, Terraza 2, Balcón 1, and Balcón 2 guests — book these if the jacuzzi matters to you
Why It Matters
Michelin Key 2024 and 2025. Internationally recognized for interior design and architectural restoration. One of only a handful of truly boutique properties (9 suites) in Roma Norte that blends 1913 heritage with genuinely original modern design. The orange trees in the garden were planted by Ignacia herself.
A 1913 Porfirian mansion in Colonia Roma Norte that's been transformed into one of the most design-forward small hotels in Mexico City. Architect Fermín Espinosa and designer Andrés Gutiérrez added a contemporary wing to the century-old casona, connecting old and new with a glass-enclosed bridge — the kind of project that lands in architecture magazines. Nine suites, complimentary breakfast from a home kitchen, daily cocktail hour in the garden, and a staff that guests rave about by name. It's named after Ignacia, the housekeeper who ran this house for over 70 years.

How you'll actually spend your days.
A full-day market tour, hands-on cooking class, and 4-course traditional Mexican lunch. Co-founded by Beto Estúa and Jorge Fitz, Casa Jacaranda has moved from the Ignacia building to Calle Milán 41 in Colonia Juárez — but it is closely associated with the guest house and guests regularly book it. Classes run Tuesday through Saturday, typically 10am to 4:30pm. Vegetarian and vegan adaptations available.
The staff — known by name in reviews — doubles as expert concierge. Restaurant recommendations, neighborhood tips, transport arrangement, and local intel are all part of the deal. Bus transportation to San Miguel de Allende has also been arranged for guests.
A curated on-site library stocked with design and art books, available to all guests. A calm spot between city adventures.
A Maya-inspired pyramidal hot tub on the rooftop, exclusively for guests in Terraza 1, Terraza 2, Balcón 1, and Balcón 2. Available 9am–9pm. Must be scheduled 20 minutes in advance. No food or drinks inside.
A rooftop accessible to guests in Terraza 1, Terraza 2, Balcón 1, and Balcón 2. Great for morning yoga, reading, or an evening drink under the sky. Home to the pre-Hispanic-style pyramidal jacuzzi.
