A 17th-century Augustinian monastery reopened in 2022 as a 9-suite boutique hotel deep in the Oltrepò Pavese wine country of Lombardy — one hour south of Milan. The winery that monks established on the property still produces Barbera, the ancient stone cellars now host a seasonal restaurant, and co-owner Azzurra Scerni has turned the grounds into Italy's first Flower Resort, complete with a working cut-flower farm she tends herself. Nine suites, an infinity pool overlooking the hills, a spa, and a genuine family feel from owners who left Milan to restore their ancestral home.
