Why It Matters
Portugal's first 5-star hotel in Ericeira — Europe's only World Surfing Reserve. It's a member of Design Hotels and available through Marriott Bonvoy. Consulting chef Alexandre Silva (of Michelin-starred LOCO in Lisbon) runs the food program. The architecture by Tiago Silva Dias uses camera-shaped windows to frame the landscape, and the hotel has its own kitchen garden supplying both restaurants.
Immerso is a 5-star 'slow hotel' in a green valley above the Atlantic, about 35–45 minutes north of Lisbon. It has 37 rooms spread across a contemporary concrete main building and two smaller accommodation units, every room facing the sea. The whole concept is built around one idea: stop. The architecture, the programming, the food — all of it points toward decompression, not distraction.

In partnership with the Tiago (Saca) Pires Surf School — Tiago Pires is a legendary Portuguese pro surfer. The hotel can arrange beginner lessons at the more approachable beaches or guide experienced surfers to the harder-breaking spots. Ericeira is Europe's only World Surfing Reserve, with nine reserve beaches offering waves for all levels. Equipment hire available.
The hotel partners with Tapada de Mafra — a UNESCO World Heritage Site spanning 800+ hectares of cork oaks and pines. Activities include guided hiking (4–9km routes), mountain bike trails, tree climbing, and carriage rides. Bookable through the hotel concierge.
