Inn at Perry Cabin
Casual coastal elegance with genuine nautical heritage. Think crisp white linens, dark-wood furniture, plantation-style shutters, and Adirondack chairs facing the water — not stiff formality. The Inn pulls off 'luxury' without making you feel like you need to whisper.
Request a water-view room facing the Miles River — the price jump over garden-view is worth it for the morning light
Why It Matters
The only Forbes Four-Star hotel and restaurant on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The Pete Dye golf course (Links at Perry Cabin) was his final design. The working sailing fleet — ranging from a 1902 Skipjack to a Hinckley motor yacht — is genuinely usable, not just decorative. And the spa incorporates herbs actually grown on the Inn's own grounds.
A white Colonial manor house sitting on the banks of the Miles River in St. Michaels, Maryland, originally built in 1816 by War of 1812 Navy veteran Samuel Hambleton. The Inn has grown from a six-room hotel into a 78-room full-service resort with a Pete Dye golf course, sailing fleet, spa, and Forbes Four-Star flagship restaurant — all without losing the easy, unhurried feel of the Eastern Shore. It holds the #1 Best Resort in Maryland title from US News for 2025 and landed the top Mid-Atlantic Resort spot on Travel + Leisure's World's Best list the same year.
