Specify harbour view at booking — city-facing rooms look inland and miss the point entirely

Why It Matters

New Zealand's first luxury 6 Green Star hotel, and one of the first properties globally to debut InterContinental's 2023 brand evolution. The Advieh restaurant is legitimately award-winning — Hotel Restaurant of the Year 2024 and one hat for two consecutive years. The building is a genuine landmark on the Auckland waterfront with arguably the best harbour-facing address in the city.

Opened in January 2024, InterContinental Auckland sits right at the water's edge on Waitematā Harbour at the halo address of One Queen Street. The glass tower anchors the $1 billion NZD Commercial Bay precinct — walk out the lobby and you're in retail, a ferry terminal is across the street, and Britomart Train Station is steps away. All 139 rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, with the majority facing the harbour. There's no pool, but Advieh — the in-house restaurant led by Chef Gareth Stewart — won Hotel Restaurant of the Year 2024 and earned one hat at the Cuisine Good Food Awards for two consecutive years. New Zealand's first luxury 6 Green Star certified hotel.
