Why It Matters
Rebranded from Sheraton Dameisha in 2020 under IHG's flagship InterContinental label after a full renovation with Kingkey Group. One of the few genuinely beachfront five-star properties in Greater Shenzhen, ranked #3 of 1,591 hotels in Shenzhen on Tripadvisor. The Club InterContinental's standalone wing with its own infinite pool and dedicated restaurant is a serious upgrade from standard resort club-floor offerings.
Shenzhen's tech-and-commerce reputation doesn't tell the whole story. Head east to the Yantian District and you find a two-kilometer stretch of golden sand backed by Wutong Mountain — and sitting right on it, this 432-room IHG flagship that opened in 2020. The resort is large but doesn't feel it; rooms all face the water, the outdoor pool complex covers over 4,000 sqm, and the private beach starts the moment you step out the basement level. It's one of those rare places where a family and a business group can both feel like it was designed specifically for them.
