IZZA Marrakech
Bohemian luxury with a serious art-world edge. The whole place is inspired by the 1960s–70s counterculture scene that made Marrakech magnetic — think Bill Willis's hedonistic salons and socialite dinner parties, but updated with NFT prints on digital frames and a Peloton in the gym. Equal parts intimate riad and contemporary gallery. Never stuffy; always curated.

Why It Matters
Michelin Key winner hosting the Museum in the Medina (MITM), a £5M+ art collection of 300+ works spanning Moroccan masters, Sebastião Salgado NFTs, Refik Anadol AI pieces and Tyler Hobbs generative prints. Seven historic riads knitted together give the property a spatial scale — five staircases, three courtyards, panoramic rooftop terraces — that no other Medina boutique can match.
IZZA is seven interconnected historic riads merged into a single 14-room hotel that doubles as a functioning contemporary art institution. The rooms are named after bohemian icons who once lived in or frequented Marrakech — Jack Kerouac, Grace Jones, Yves Saint-Laurent, Allen Ginsberg, Marianne Faithfull — and the interiors are layered with zellige, tadelakt and arabesque plasterwork hand-crafted by local artisans. Over 300 curated artworks hang throughout, spanning Moroccan photography, printed NFTs and AI-generative pieces, in what is billed as one of the world's largest physical exhibitions of digital art. It opened in 2023, earned the Michelin Key in 2024, and shows up consistently in Condé Nast Traveller, Vogue and Forbes best-of lists.

How you'll actually spend your days.
One of the best-equipped gyms in the Medina. Includes a Tonal Smart Gym system, a Peloton treadmill (a first for Marrakech), and free weights. Shares space with rotating artworks from the Museum in the Medina.
Full traditional hammam sequence: dry heat, steam, exfoliation with kessa glove and argan paste, ghassoul clay wrap, optional massage and aromatherapy. Treatments use organic ingredients from Ourika Valley cooperatives. Hammam available on request with 2 hours' notice. Spa open 10am–8pm daily.
A curated library adjacent to the Allen room, featuring a replica of Bill Willis's own fireplace. Guests can swap books and use it as a reading retreat between souk sessions.
The sprawling rooftop terrace is entwined with ancient vines and features day beds, potted rose terracotta, cactus and lemon trees. Panoramic views across the Medina rooftops. Three courtyards below include a 10m heated lap pool, a foot-bath pool and a wall-fountain courtyard. Cocktails from Bill's Bar delivered to the pool or terrace.
The hotel's city guide (notably guide Mustafa) accompanies guests on their first Medina outing to orient them in the narrow streets and point out the best souk routes, local eateries and neighbourhood landmarks. Good for first-time visitors who find the Medina's layout disorienting.
IZZA hosts over 300 curated artworks throughout guest rooms and public spaces, including printed NFTs by Refik Anadol, Tyler Hobbs and Matt Deslauriers, Moroccan photography by Leila Alaoui and Hassan Hajjaj, and digital portraits by Yatreda. The in-house curator offers private tours explaining each piece's backstory and connection to the 'freedom seeker' narrative. The museum is also accessible to non-guests by appointment.
