Why It Matters
One of the very few functioning castle hotels in the Netherlands that is also a designated national monument. The estate spans three separate historic buildings, each bookable as accommodation. The Burgundian restaurant uses local Limburg produce and seasonal menus. Accessed by members of both Romantik Hotels and Tablet Hotels collections.
A moat-ringed castle estate in the forests of Central Limburg, built on 14th-century foundations dating to 1311. Three distinct buildings — the medieval Hoofdburcht, the white-walled Voorburcht, and the converted Kasteelhoeve farmhouse — each have their own character and room types. Both the Hoofdburcht and Voorburcht are officially designated national monuments.

Luxury Room (Voorburcht / Hoofdburcht / Kasteelhoeve)
Single-floor luxury rooms spread across all three estate buildings. A more straightforward room format compared to the suites — still well-equipped with minibars, bathrobes, and a proper bath/shower combo. Location varies: Voorburcht rooms sit in the historic white wings around the courtyard, while Kasteelhoeve versions are in the farmhouse block.
Sauna Suite (Hoofdburcht)
The top-tier option at Kasteel Daelenbroeck. Set in the Hoofdburcht tower with panoramic views across the full estate. King-size bed, whirlpool bath, and a two-person infrared sauna right in the room. Nowhere else in the hotel do you get this combination of medieval atmosphere and private wellness.

Split-level Suite (Kasteelhoeve)
The most popular room type at Daelenbroeck. Fifteen of these fill the converted Kasteelhoeve farmhouse. Living room sits on the ground floor, bedroom and bathroom are upstairs via a staircase. Each suite has its own private terrace overlooking either the courtyard or the Voorburcht. Every room has a distinct theme — Romantic, Summer, Symphony and others.
Tower Room (Voorburcht)
A single room tucked into the white tower of the Voorburcht. Looks out over the cobblestone courtyard and the bridge crossing the moat. More compact than the suites but the view more than compensates. Think of it as the character room — great setting, straightforward amenities.
Tower Suite (Hoofdburcht)
Two suites inside the medieval Hoofdburcht tower. Extra spacious, with a whirlpool bath and a king-size bed. Views over the estate make these the most impressive rooms in the house — you are quite literally sleeping inside a centuries-old fortified tower.

City bikes and e-bikes available to rent directly from the hotel. Secure bicycle lockers are free. National Park De Meinweg and regional cycling routes start directly from the estate.
Monthly classical concerts held on the last Sunday of each month from September through March, inside the atmospheric Hoofdburcht. One of the most distinctive things you can do at the castle. Musicians are described as excellent performers.
The 18-hole tournament course at Golf & Country Club De Herkenbosche is 1.5km from the castle. One of the most beautiful courses in the Netherlands, set among shifting sand dunes, conifers, and rhododendrons. Hotel can arrange tee times directly — no extra booking fee. Included in the Golf Package.
Guided tours of the historic castle buildings — from the main Hoofdburcht to the medieval 14th-century vaults. Arranged through Maria Bonten who partners with Kasteel Daelenbroeck to provide several tour formats and packages.
National Park De Meinweg is directly accessible from the castle grounds. The hotel offers a dedicated Hiking Package that bundles overnight stay, breakfast, and dinner. The 'geluksplekken' (happy places) route through Roerdalen starts from the moat.
Six horse boxes on the estate grounds, with several kilometres of bridle paths around the castle. Paths include routes designed specifically for horse and carriage. Boxes are reservable and include hay, straw, feed and water.
Rotating exhibitions of contemporary national and international artists displayed in the restored horse stables — the Travalje- and Heinsbergzaal halls within the Voorburcht. Access is free of charge.
The Roermond Designer Outlet is a short drive from the castle. The hotel offers an Outlet Shopping Package bundling accommodation and dinner.
