Order a slice of Eckerbichl-Torte in the Kaminbar fireplace lounge — the hotel's signature cake and a genuine highlight

Why It Matters

The two-Michelin-starred Restaurant PUR puts this well above typical ski-resort dining. The penthouse duplex suites come with private 40 sqm rooftop terraces. And the hotel was the first in the entire Kempinski group to introduce a dedicated Activity Concierge role — a concept born here in 2015.

A five-star resort perched 1,000 meters above sea level on Eckerbichl, with the full panorama of Watzmann, Untersberg, and Kehlstein right outside every window. The horseshoe-shaped building uses floor-to-ceiling glass facades so mountain views come from virtually every corner. Interiors lean into natural materials — wood, loden, leather — with enough polish to feel genuinely upscale without being stiff. Opened under Kempinski's flag in 2015, the hotel counts 138 rooms and suites, a 1,400 sqm spa, four dining venues, and a two-Michelin-starred restaurant.
