Da An Taipei
Minimalist urban sanctuary. Neri & Hu's design pulls references from Taipei's alleys and shopfronts — white tiles, metalwork, wooden thresholds — into something quietly sophisticated. Not flashy. The brand describes it as 'luxury with a wink', and that tracks.

Why It Matters
First Kimpton in Asia, designed by award-winning studio Neri & Hu. Earned 1 Michelin Key in 2025. The Tavernist held a Michelin Plate designation every year from 2020 to 2024. Also a 2025 Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Best of the Best winner.
Kimpton Da An opened in March 2019 as the brand's first property in Asia, and it remains one of their most architecturally serious. Shanghai-based Neri & Hu converted a former luxury apartment complex into a 129-room boutique hotel using the concept of an 'urban sanctuary' — white glossy tiles, concrete finishes, oak room dividers, and a dramatic double-height atrium in the lobby. The result is calm without being cold. Rooms are compact but beautifully resolved, and the 12th-floor Tavernist restaurant is legitimately worth a visit on its own.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
Hotel-organized biking and hiking programs for guests who want a more structured way to explore Taipei. Designed to help guests 'live like a local' rather than just hit the tourist circuit.
A Kimpton signature: complimentary wine, cocktails, and light bites in the lobby living room every evening. More community gathering than mere free drink — the hotel staff actively facilitate conversation between guests.
Complimentary custom-designed GoChic Bikes are available at the hotel entrance for guests to explore the neighborhood. Good for a leisurely ride around Da'an or Xinyi districts, or for a proper fitness excursion.
All rooms come with an Easyoga yoga mat and access to an in-room yoga channel. Low-key, but appreciated by guests who want to keep up a practice without hunting for a studio.
Amenities & Practical Info
The details that matter for planning.
Complimentary high-speed WiFi throughout the property. In-room speeds reviewed at approximately 39 Mbps down / 45 Mbps up.
The ground-floor lobby doubles as a living room with complimentary filtered water and coffee available throughout the day. Self-flavored sparkling water is also complimentary all day.
Concierge services available via email (TPEKM.CON@ihg.com). Luggage storage, foreign currency exchange, safety deposit boxes, ticket booking assistance, and dry cleaning/laundry valet also offered.
Daily housekeeping included. Turndown service in the evening with water and a small snack left at the bedside.
Confirmed: no swimming pool on property. This is a real limitation compared to larger Taipei hotels. Guests who want a pool will need to look elsewhere.
A landscaped garden and koi pond adjacent to the lobby. Tiled walls with curated openings frame the view from inside — a Neri & Hu design nod to the tile work of Taipei's alleys.
An outdoor rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Taipei skyline. No pool, but a proper spot to take in the city — especially at dusk.
All pets welcome at no extra charge. Up to 2 pets per room. No size or breed restrictions — if it fits through the door, it's in. A dedicated pet floor separates guests with animals from those without. Notify the hotel in advance due to limited pet amenities.
Five levels of underground parking. One complimentary car per guest stay, 24 hours. Operated by Ying An Parking (not directly affiliated with the hotel but hotel guests get the benefit).
Located on Level 2. Treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical machines, and free weights. Key card access required. No charge.
