Why It Matters
One of Portland's oldest operating hotels (1894 redbrick building on the National Register of Historic Places), reimagined as a wine-themed boutique property with one of the most distinct lobby experiences in the city: a daily hosted wine hour, a grape-bunch chandelier, a painting of Bacchus with a nipple ring, and a floating staircase leading to an adult game lounge.
A 117-room boutique hotel inside a 10-story redbrick building that's been standing on SW Broadway since 1894 — and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The exterior is classic Portland; the interior is anything but.
