Kimpton Tryon Park opened in November 2017 as a purpose-built 18-story glass tower in Charlotte's Uptown 3rd Ward, right across from Romare Bearden Park. It's 217 rooms of dark mahogany, Italian marble, and crystal chandeliers — genuinely handsome in a way that doesn't feel like it's trying too hard. The real draw is Merchant & Trade on the 19th floor: one of the very few rooftop bars in Charlotte with proper indoor/outdoor options and panoramic views that sweep across the city skyline and park below.

Suites range from 760 to just under 1,300 sq ft and include a separate living room with a wet bar — comfortable for an extended stay or for entertaining. Floor-to-ceiling windows with blackout shading look out over the park or Uptown skyline. Contemporary furnishings with the same dark-wood-and-crystal design language as the rest of the hotel.
KingPark View Corner King Spa
Corner configuration means extra window real estate and wraparound park views. The spa bathroom is the standout — guests consistently call it out as a highlight, with the oversized marble shower and deep soaking tub. One of the most requested room types in the hotel.

The crown jewel of the property at nearly 1,300 sq ft. Dark hardwood floors, a chandelier-lit formal dining table, and overhead mood lighting that creates something genuinely intimate despite the scale. This is the hotel's best room for an occasion.
