Kinloch Lodge
Classic Scottish country house — think antique portraits, tartan fabrics, drawing rooms with window seats, an open firepit on the loch-side lawn, and a proper whisky bar. Warm and unpretentious. Not flashy, but genuinely special.

Why It Matters
One of Skye's oldest and most historically significant hotels, with Michelin Key recognition, a Michelin-starred restaurant run by Chef Director Marcello Tully, and over 50 years of Macdonald clan stewardship. It's sitting in the Sleat peninsula — far from the coach-tour crowds — with direct views over Loch na Dal toward the Cuillin mountains.
A family-run former hunting lodge on the shores of Loch na Dal in Skye's quiet Sleat peninsula, Kinloch Lodge has been in the hands of the Macdonald clan — one of Scotland's oldest — since 1972. It's been a hotel for over 50 years and now carries a Michelin Key, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and a Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice award. Roaring fires, whisky by the glass, and a resident ghillie for wilderness adventures make this one of Scotland's most complete escapes.
