Why It Matters
One of the most convincingly restored historic properties in Greece. The estate is genuinely self-sufficient: guests can watch olives being pressed (Nov–Mar), join the grape harvest, or bake bread in the old stone oven on Saturdays. A 13th-century Byzantine mansion turned 5-star boutique eco-hotel on 25 acres of working estate above the rock of Monemvasia. The hotel's most popular room category. These 41 sqm suites have sweeping Aegean and vineyard views. King-size bed, comfortable seating area, and — the standout feature — a finely-carved historic fireplace. Because of the original mansion walls, each suite varies slightly in layout.
