L’Assiette Champenoise
Quietly luxurious and family-run, with genuine warmth. Modern interiors behind a classic French manor façade. The kind of place where the staff remembers your name, a bottle of Champagne arrives with every check-in, and the sommelier conversation over dinner lasts longer than the courses.
The bar — with its 1,000+ Champagne references — is strictly reserved for hotel and restaurant guests. You cannot just walk in.
Why It Matters
Home to one of France's most celebrated three-Michelin-star restaurants. Arnaud Lallement earned the third star in 2014 and holds a 19/20 Gault et Millau score. The property is also ranked 2nd in the world on La Liste, a member of Relais & Châteaux and Les Grandes Tables du Monde, and is among the only genuinely luxury hotel options in the Champagne wine region.
The restaurant is the main draw — Arnaud Lallement's three-Michelin-star kitchen is what fills the tables and, by extension, the rooms — but the 5-star hotel at L'Assiette Champenoise stands on its own merits. From the outside, it's a stately brick mansion in the Reims suburb of Tinqueux; inside, the aesthetic surprises with clean lines, geometric shapes, a moody color palette, and contemporary art. Fifty years of Lallement family ownership shows in the warmth of the welcome: Arnaud cooks, his wife Magali manages the dining room, and his sister Mélanie runs the hotel.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel books private visits to regional Champagne houses on request. Formal Champagne house packages are available with Krug (weekdays only, max 8 people) and Dom Pérignon. The concierge can also arrange visits to other houses in the area.
A guided electric bike excursion through the Champagne vineyards, organized in partnership with Reims Tourism. The hotel can assist with booking.
An aperitif at a table facing the kitchen pass, watching the brigade at work, before heading into the dining room for the full tasting menu. Krug Grande Cuvée cuvées are offered alongside the meal. For groups of 2 to 8 people, by reservation only — must be requested several days in advance.
Guests can explore the property's private park, which includes a working vegetable garden (supplying the kitchen), a greenhouse, on-site beehives (since 2017, producing the house's own acacia honey), and an edible flower garden. An authentic look at how the kitchen sources its ingredients.
