La Bastide du Mourre
Rustic-chic Provençal wellness retreat. White-washed walls, crisp linens, antique details, dried lavender posies, and zero fuss. Think calm farmhouse, not curated design hotel.
Breakfast (€30/guest) is not included in room rates — worth it for the full Provençal spread of local cheeses, charcuterie, pastries, and Fontenille jams
Why It Matters
Part of the well-regarded Fontenille Collection (which also runs an organic winery 40 minutes away), it's one of very few proper wellness retreats in the Luberon that still feels genuinely Provençal rather than imported Scandi-spa. The combination of serious wellness programming, excellent Table d'Hôtes cuisine, and an honest connection to the local landscape sets it apart.
A restored 17th-century Provençal farmhouse spread across several old stone buildings — it feels more like a hamlet than a hotel. Opened in April 2023, La Bastide du Mourre is the Fontenille Collection's dedicated wellness outpost in the Luberon, sitting above terraced vineyards with views straight to the Luberon mountain range. Wellness is the whole point here: yoga, Pilates, Nordic bath, spa treatments, and guided hikes are woven into the weekly rhythm, but the Table d'Hôtes and that heated pool in the garden will make sure you don't feel like you're at a health clinic.
