Why It Matters
Michelin Guide-recognized restaurant (Bib Gourmand 2020) in an intimate 7-room farmhouse dating to the 1850s/1870s. The kitchen has a seriously accomplished pedigree — current chef Florian Langellier trained under Emmanuel Renaut at Flocons de Sel and Jean Sulpice at Père Bise. Views of Mont Blanc from the rooms. A 19th-century Savoyard farmhouse turned 4-star boutique hotel sitting above Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, with Mont Blanc filling the window from nearly every room. Just seven rooms and a Michelin Guide-listed restaurant make this a genuinely small operation — the kind where the owners know your name before you arrive. Stone walls, animal hides on the furniture, a fire in the lounge, and food built around arctic char, alpine crayfish, and game. It's not a ski-in hotel and it's not a full-service resort. But for a mountain stay anchored by serious cooking, it's hard to beat.

The smallest room in the house — 'L'Abri' means a temporary hiker's shelter, and at 16m² that's not too far from reality. King-size bed, private bathroom, balcony with garden access. Designed for short breaks. Tight but well-fitted; can be configured as two singles on request.

The standout option. La Remise is a separate stone-and-wood outbuilding attached to — but distinct from — the main farmhouse. 24m² with a Queen-size bed, a dramatic open-plan bathroom, and a reading lounge. Steps outside lead to a private garden lounge. The most romantic and private room on the property. Sleeps max two adults plus infant.
