La Maison des Embruns
Coastal modernist meets warm Breton hospitality. Clean lines, woven nautical textiles, Muzzü eco-cosmetics in every room, and a library lounge with a wood-burning insert for stormy evenings. Adults only, intimate, deliberately quiet.

Why It Matters
Listed in both the Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels. The location is exceptional — steps from the GR34 coastal path, with direct sight lines to the islands of Ouessant and Molène. Yann's cooking background means breakfast and the weekly table d'hôtes are genuinely worth staying for.
La Maison des Embruns — 'seaspray house' — is a sleek, architect-designed B&B sitting practically on top of the Iroise Sea at the western tip of Finistère. Owners Yann and Laurence (with 40 years of restaurant experience between them) built this place from scratch, designing every detail themselves with the help of Biscotte Design Studio. Four rooms, a heated outdoor pool with sea views, and a table d'hôtes that draws on hyperlocal Breton producers — it punches well above its size.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The beaches of Trézien are 300m from the front door — easy walk, no car needed. Wild, uncrowded Atlantic beach with turquoise water in good weather.
Yann and Laurence can advise on cycling routes to Le Conquet (12km), Pointe Saint-Mathieu, and Porspoder. The roads through the Iroise cape are low-traffic and extremely scenic.
Ferries to Île d'Ouessant depart each morning from Le Conquet, 12km away. The crossing takes about an hour. Ouessant is one of France's most remote and atmospheric islands — lighthouse, black sheep, and serious seabird colonies. Yann and Laurence can advise on planning the day.
The famous GR34 long-distance coastal path runs directly past the property. Head east toward Porspoder or west toward the Pointe de Corsen lighthouse (20 minutes on foot). Dramatic cliff scenery, white-sand coves and open Atlantic views in both directions.
The 10m x 3.5m outdoor pool is heated to 27°C and open from May to September. Sea views from the pool deck. Sun loungers provided.
