Book the Suite Racine if you want the most space — at ~48m² it's nearly twice the size of the smaller rooms

Why It Matters

A listed historic monument and one of the only places to sleep on this stretch of the Camino de Santiago in genuine design comfort. Featured in Elle Décoration, Marie Claire Maison, Le Figaro Magazine, and Remodelista. Breakfast is included and served on locally handmade ceramics. No air conditioning by design — the 1m-thick stone walls and wooden interior shutters do the job. Christèle developed an exclusive range of 20 limewash paint shades with French eco-specialist Mercadier specifically for this restoration.

A classified 18th-century royal leather tannery built in 1754 by architect Pierre Racine, abandoned for over 30 years before two Parisians — interior stylist Christèle Ageorges and her husband Hubert Delance — discovered it while walking the Camino de Santiago in 2017 and spent three-plus years restoring it from scratch. It opened as a boutique B&B and events space in summer 2022. Five beautifully designed guest rooms, a monastic Pilgrims' Cottage in the original vaulted cellars, and a rentable private wing for up to 14 guests sit inside one of the most considered interiors you'll find in southwest France.
