The current owner, a French architect who first encountered Henriette's legacy as a student in Aix-en-Provence, has transformed it into a 13-suite adults-only retreat where comic-book characters share wall space with East Timorese textiles, high-ceilinged rooms smell of a signature scent, and the spa sits behind an imposing gold door.
