Why It Matters
One of the very few properties in Corsica with direct beachfront on Plage de la Roya, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World since the property's early days. The on-site restaurant La Table de La Roya draws diners from across the region with a Franco-Asian menu inspired by the chef's years in Polynesia and Vietnam. The hotel also has its own boat for multi-day sea cruises departing from a private pontoon.
La Roya has been sitting directly on Plage de la Roya since 1976 — and it shows in the best possible way. The Gulf of Saint-Florent stretches out in front, the raw Agriates desert mountains rise behind, and 26 rooms and suites are tucked into low-rise terraced buildings threaded through a lush flower garden. It's a beachside property that actually earns that label: your feet hit sand within seconds of leaving the pool.

Miles of coastal footpaths run from the hotel through the Agriates desert mountains, passing wild beaches along the way. The hotel can advise on routes.
Complimentary electric bikes available to guests. The 10-minute ride or walk along the beach into Saint-Florent's marina is the obvious use case. Best done during daylight — parts of the coastal path are unlit at night.

The hotel operates its own boat departing from the private pontoon directly in front of the property. Day trips and multi-day cruises (1 to several days) are available, visiting Cap Corse, the Agriates coast, and beaches like Saleccia and Lotu that are difficult to reach overland. The boat has two cabins and two bathrooms for overnight trips.

The Patrimonio wine estates are a few minutes from the hotel. Concierge can recommend visits and tastings. Patrimonio produces some of Corsica's most distinctive wines.
Every Thursday from mid-June to mid-September, the hotel garden hosts DJ after-beach sessions from 18h to 21h with sharing boards of tapas and cocktails. Open to guests and visitors alike.
