La Sultana Marrakech
Authentic Moroccan riad palace — ornate patios with carved wood and water fountains, rooms decorated with art collections and artisan pieces, intimate scale. History-forward without feeling like a museum.
Book the Deluxe Suite or above if natural light matters to you — standard riad rooms face the internal patio, not outside
Why It Matters
One of a very small number of hotels in the world built within a UNESCO World Heritage Site in active collaboration with a national Historic Monuments authority. The vaults of the former royal granary that once supplied the Moroccan royal family became the hotel's patios. Terraces overlook the Mausoleum of the Saadian Princes. Member of Small Luxury Hotels, Virtuoso, and Serandipians.
Five historic Moroccan riads merged into a single walled complex in Marrakech's Kasbah district, sitting directly next to the Saadian Tombs and within easy eyeline of the Royal Palace. The renovation was done hand-in-hand with Morocco's Historic Monuments authority — master craftsmen restored zellige tiles, carved woodwork, and plasterwork across 28 rooms and suites, each one entirely different from the next. And the 2,000 sq.m rooftop terrace? It delivers unobstructed views from the Koutoubia minaret all the way to the snow-capped Atlas Mountains.
