La Valise Mexico City
Gallery-meets-townhouse. Artsy, intimate, and deliberately anti-hotel. Each suite has a distinct design personality — think velvet furnishings, local artwork, clawfoot tubs on rooftop terraces, and rolling beds that slide outdoors. Feels more like staying in a well-curated private home than a hotel.
Book the Polaris or Gravity Suite for the full sky-sleep rolling-bed terrace experience — this is the signature feature of the property.
Why It Matters
Michelin Key recipient (2024), member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World since 2022, only 8 suites in a renovated 1920s French hôtel particulier in Roma Norte. The signature rolling king beds that glide onto open terraces are genuinely unlike anything else in Mexico City. Expanded in 2023 to add a piscinema (pool + cinema), elevator, and spa treatment rooms.
Eight suites tucked above a street-level café in a 1920s French-style townhouse in Roma Norte. Founded in 2014 by European entrepreneur Yves Naman, the place leans fully into its small size — no restaurant, no gym, no pool (well, there's a piscinema). What it does have is genuinely one-of-a-kind rooms filled with Mexican antiques, handpicked art, and bespoke furnishings, plus beds that roll out onto terraces for sleeping under the city sky. In 2024 it received one Key in the inaugural Michelin Guide Key selection in Mexico.
