Le Coucou
Contemporary alpine chic with quirky Yovanovitch flair. Earthy terracotta tones, velvet sofas, antique furniture and custom-made pieces sit alongside retro murals and deliberate pops of color. Relaxed but never casual. Family-friendly without feeling chaotic.
Free on-call shuttle service connects you to Méribel center and back in under 10 minutes — no car needed
Why It Matters
Méribel's only 5-star ski-in/ski-out hotel with an outdoor pool. Pierre Yovanovitch's first-ever hotel commission. Part of the curated Maisons Pariente family collection and featured in the Condé Nast Traveler Hot List 2020. The ski room service — staff kneel to help you off with your boots daily — sets the tone for the whole place.
Le Coucou is Méribel's only 5-star ski-in/ski-out hotel with a pool — and it's the only property that genuinely earns the comparison to a designer destination rather than just a posh chalet. Opened in December 2019 as Maisons Pariente's first alpine property, the hotel stretches across 10 floors and 12,000 sqm of mountainside at 1,600m altitude, disguised behind a traditional timber-and-stone façade that hides an interior designed entirely by Pierre Yovanovitch. The effect is warm, colorful, and playful: owl frescoes on a domed lobby ceiling, vintage cuckoo clocks, bear-shaped armchairs, snow-inspired carpets, and marble bathrooms with floor heating — none of the heavy dark-wood alpine clichés you'd expect.
