Le Fitz Roy
Warm Alpine sanctuary. Design-conscious without being cold — think Savoie farmhouse meets contemporary mountain lodge. Curated art throughout, a crackling fire in the bar, and enough style to feel intentional without being fussy.
Book a Slopes View room — the village view rooms are fine, but waking up to the pistes makes the price premium worth it
Why It Matters
One of the landmark ski hotels in Europe's highest resort. Ski-in/ski-out access with heated boot lockers and an in-house Audacius ski shop. Long-running reputation as a meeting point for serious skiers and après-ski crowd alike. The Beaumier renovation elevated it from classic alpine hotel to a genuinely design-forward property.
Le Fitz Roy sits right at the heart of Val Thorens at 2,300 metres — Europe's highest ski resort — with the slopes literally on your doorstep. Part of the Beaumier collection, the hotel was fully renovated by architects Charles & Co and carries a warm, après-ski sanctuary feel: velvet drapes, leather armchairs, woollen rugs, antiques, and a lobby hung with 20 monumental ink drawings of Alpine landscapes. It's a proper ski hotel with a genuinely good restaurant and a spa that earns its keep after a hard day on 600km of pistes.
