Le K2 Palace
Himalayan-inspired alpine palace — quietly opulent, not flashy. Think deep velvets, crafted timber, Tibetan bronzes, and a discreet atmosphere where seriously wealthy guests appreciate not being noticed.
Tea time at the 8611 Bar (2pm–6pm) is a way to experience Sébastien Vauxion's pastry work without booking into Le Sarkara — he creates the sweet menu here too
Why It Matters
Holds 3 Michelin Keys (2024) and houses Le Sarkara, one of France's most singular fine-dining experiences — a two-Michelin-star restaurant run by chef Sébastien Vauxion where the line between pastry and savoury cooking is deliberately blurred. The hotel's own ski lift feeds directly into Les 3 Vallées, the largest connected ski domain in the world at over 600km of marked runs.
Le K2 Palace is a seasonal ski-in/ski-out palace hotel in Courchevel 1850, structured less like a traditional hotel and more like a private mountain hamlet — a main building flanked by freestanding suite-chalets and standalone chalets, all linked by subterranean corridors. The architecture draws deliberately on Himalayan and Tibetan aesthetics: warm wood, bronze accents, and artifacts in the lobby that reference mountaineering history. Inside, 29 rooms and suites plus six suite-chalets and four private chalets hold guests who want Les 3 Vallées at their doorstep and a two-Michelin-star dinner waiting when they get back.
