Le Petit Moulin
High-fashion maximalism meets intimate boutique. Lacroix's signature mix-and-match of eras, textures, and references fills every corner — from rococo to couture to mid-century. The scale is deliberately small and personal, more like staying in a very stylish private house than a hotel.
The Junior Suite on the top floor has exposed beams and a sofa bed — great if you want extra space, but it's stairs-only access
Why It Matters
Christian Lacroix designed every room individually, making this his first-ever hotel project. The building itself is a listed 17th-century structure that began as Paris's oldest bakery. The facade has barely changed since 1900, and the 'Boulangerie' sign still confuses passersby. It's part of the small, family-run Chevalier Paris group and has a listing in both the Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels.
A 4-star boutique hotel entirely designed by Christian Lacroix — his first hotel project — tucked inside what was originally the oldest bakery in Paris, dating to the reign of Henri IV. The 1900 boulangerie façade is a classified historical monument, and the sign still reads 'Boulangerie', so first-time visitors do sometimes walk past it. Inside, every one of the 17 rooms is a different world: think bold wallpapers, Venetian mirrors, toile de Jouy, damask prints, and Baroque flourishes. No minimalism here, and no twee antique-heavy Parisian hotel clichés either.

Free access to bicycle rental at sister hotel Pavillon de la Reine, a 10-minute walk away. Good option for exploring the Marais and surrounding neighborhoods.
A nighttime sightseeing experience through Paris aboard a vintage Citroën 2CV, offered in partnership with '4 roues sous un parapluie'. An alternative to the usual bus tours — bouncy, low to the ground, and very Parisian.
