Why It Matters
One of only two Le Petit Pali inns in Carmel-by-the-Sea (the other is at 8th Ave), and part of Palisociety's growing B&B subcategory under the Le Petit Pali brand. Opened in 2023 in buildings Carmel's strict no-new-hotel rules meant were vanishingly rare opportunities. MICHELIN Guide listed. Champagne continental breakfast runs all the way to noon — a genuinely unusual policy that works well for leisure travelers and remote workers alike.
Le Petit Pali at Ocean Ave is Palisociety's 34-room B&B inn in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, reimagined in 2023 from what was formerly The Getaway Carmel. It sits right on Ocean Ave — Carmel's main retail strip — and Carmel Beach is a half-mile stroll downhill. Think huntsman-chic: tartan throws, portraits of hunting dogs, floral bed frames, vintage lamps, and sea landscapes on the walls, all anchored by Bellino fine linens and Diptyque bath products. Rooms are genuinely on the smaller side (queen rooms start at 215 sq ft), but the inn compensates with serious amenities and a social program that runs from 7am champagne breakfast through an 8pm happy hour.

Noticeably more spacious than the standard king, with a full sofa and seating area in addition to the king bed. Hardwood floors, gas log fireplace, rain shower. Good choice if you want a bit more room to spread out without going full suite.

A step up from the queen rooms in both size and comfort. Bespoke seating area alongside the king bed, hardwood floors, gas log fireplace, and the same full amenity package. The sweet spot for most solo travelers and couples.

The only true suite at the property. An oversized one-bedroom layout with a separate living room that has a sleeper sofa — useful for a small family or guests who need a proper work-and-sleep separation. Two full bathrooms and two gas log fireplaces. At 470 sq ft, it's genuinely spacious by Carmel boutique inn standards.

Accessible room with wider entryways, a full bathtub with handheld showerhead alongside the rain shower, and a gas log fireplace. Same quality finishes as the rest of the property — accessibility doesn't mean a downgrade here.
