Le Rose Thé
Retro-chic Mediterranean boutique. Think feather-tile bar, vegetal veranda, artisan-made murals, and a custom fragrance drifting through the corridors. Not flashy luxury — more like the well-loved, beautifully restored soul of a seaside town.
The Front de Mer SPA rooms have a private terrace jacuzzi facing the sea — guests rave about using it at night under the stars. It's worth booking over the balcony rooms.
Why It Matters
One of La Ciotat's oldest operating hotels, open since 1933. Alain Delon and Lino Ventura filmed 'Les Aventuriers' here in 1966. The 2022 renovation brought in architect Jean-Baptiste Beaulieu and decorators Roxane Bondono and Fanny Reggio who commissioned local artists for bespoke murals, punch-needle cushions, cotton gauze bedding, and even a signature house fragrance. Also arguably the best restaurant table in La Ciotat.
Le Rose Thé has stood directly across from La Ciotat's Grande Plage since 1933. Its curved, rounded facade is a genuine local landmark — the building's form has passed from Art Deco modern to gloriously retro, and that's a compliment. Fifteen rooms, all completely redesigned in 2022 by local architects and artisans in blues, greens, and pinks, plus a restaurant and bar that the entire town treats as its living room.
