Why It Matters
One of La Baule's oldest continuously operating hotels (since 1913), composed of four genuine Bauloise villas — not a single building. Every room is individually decorated and no two are the same. Its restaurant holds a Michelin Assiette. No pool, no spa on-site — but those aren't the point here.
Four early-20th-century timber-framed villas spread across a century-old garden, 100 metres from La Baule's famous sandy beach. Founded in 1913, Le Saint-Christophe is a 39-room, 4-star boutique hotel with a family-house spirit — every room has its own decor, its own furniture, its own personality. The on-site restaurant, La Table du Saint-Christophe, holds a Michelin Assiette and Gault & Millau recognition and draws locals as much as guests.

Named after the French author, this suite comes with a balcony that frames the local church with the ocean in the background. A genuinely lovely view.

At 20-25 m², these family rooms include a setup for children alongside the main double. Good for a short seaside break with young kids, given how close the beach is.

The entry point at Le Saint-Christophe, and honestly fine for a short stay if you're out exploring most of the day. At 15-17 m² these are small — think cosy rather than spacious. Each one has a completely different theme: tartan, big-blue-sea, hummingbird motifs. Antique-style family furniture gives them real character. One room is accessible for guests with limited mobility.

Cocoon Suites in the Attic
Added in 2021, these attic suites are the most recently reimagined spaces in the hotel. They blend the existing retro-chic character of the Saint-Christophe with more contemporary design touches — a good sign that the hotel is evolving without losing its soul.

A step up in size at 20-25 m², the Deluxe rooms are the sweet spot for couples doing a romantic weekend. The extra space makes a real difference. Some have balconies or terraces — worth specifying when you book.

On the ground floor of one of the villas, these rooms have their own separate entrance and a fully furnished private terrace opening directly onto the garden. One of the most appealing options for families who want privacy and outdoor space.

The most spacious family option at 70 m². A large living room flows out onto the garden and a private terrace. If you have kids who need room to breathe, this is the one.

The standout duplex at 40 m². A large lounge with a vast balcony on the lower level, and the bedroom tucked up on a mezzanine above. Architecturally the most interesting room in the house.
