& Spa
Intimate alpine chalet meets art-collector's mountain hideout. Designer Christophe Decarpentrie gave each room a mountain-range theme — maharaja's palace for Everest, pine-heavy Italian design for the Dolomites — so the décor is layered and specific rather than generic luxury. Rustic wood beams and vaulted ceilings, but the beds are canopied kings and the bathrooms are stone with jacuzzi tubs.
Request a south-facing room — they all technically face south, but ask specifically for full Alpine panorama rather than courtyard-side
Why It Matters
Two Michelin Keys for the hotel and one Michelin Star for Chef Yannick Crepaux's restaurant LeMontBlanc. Just 16 rooms, all facing the Alps. Open year-round (rare for the altitude), so it works for skiers, hikers, and cyclists alike. A member of Leading Hotels of the World and Swiss Deluxe Hotels. Former Bond star Roger Moore spent the last years of his life in a chalet ten minutes away.
Perched at 1,650m above Crans-Montana in the Swiss Alps, LeCrans started life as a humble family pension and was rebuilt into a 16-room, five-star boutique hotel without losing its soul. The chalet structure is wooden and angular — properly Alpine — and every single room faces south toward a panorama of peaks stretching from Mont Blanc to the Dufourspitze. It holds Two Michelin Keys and its restaurant, LeMontBlanc, carries a Michelin Star. Small enough to feel like a private mountain house, large enough to have a serious spa, a wine cellar, and a cigar lounge.
