Opened in May 2022, Legend Hotel is a 20-room boutique sitting right on Alter Markt — the old market square directly next to Cologne's 14th-century City Hall tower. The building is clean-lined and Modernist, a sharp geometric contrast to its medieval neighbors, with Bauhaus-influenced restraint softened by oak parquet floors, walnut headboards, and gold accents. Custom beds, designed in collaboration with local Cologne textile manufacturer LUIZ and designer Peter Fehrentz, are the headline feature of every room. And the rooftop terrace looking straight at the Cathedral is quietly spectacular.

At 23 sqm, these are the entry-level rooms — but 'entry-level' is relative here. Warm oak parquet, walnut headboard LEGEND beds with luxury LUIZ linens, gold accents, and a walk-in shower with a rainfall head. Views look onto the historic City Hall tower and its stone statues of Charlemagne and the Three Kings. Cozy, well-designed, and genuinely comfortable.

Bigger than the Classic, with the same design sensibility — more breathing room for couples. All the same materials and furnishings, just more of them. Views still onto the historic city center.
Loft
Set on the upper floors, the Lofts put you above the Cologne roofline with wide city views. The ceiling height and elevated position give these rooms a different feel — airier, more dramatic. Same core design DNA as the rest of the hotel: oak parquet, custom beds, gold accents.
Suite
Seven Suites, ranging 45–50 sqm, occupy the building's corner positions and flood with natural light from two sides. You get a proper separate living area with a lounge sofa alongside the sleeping area, and an extra-large 2.10m custom LEGEND bed. The corner placement means you can choose your view: either the Alter Markt with Great St. Martin's Church, or the Rathausplatz — site of Germany's oldest town hall.
