Les Glycines
Refined Périgord country house. Warm, intimate, and genuinely green. Think antique stone walls softened by contemporary colour palettes, a sprawling garden, and a chef who grows much of what ends up on your plate. More serious gastronomy than pure resort; the setting is the attraction.
Book a Junior Suite Terrace for direct access to the park — completely different feel from a standard room.
Why It Matters
One of the Dordogne's most celebrated hotel-restaurants. Chef Pascal Lombard holds a Michelin star at Le 1862 and a Bib Gourmand at the Bistro des Glycines — two Michelin accolades under one roof. The property is also exceptional for its sheer greenness: the park and gardens are among the lushest in the region, backing onto forest-covered cliffs.
Les Glycines is a former 19th-century coaching inn, on the edge of Les Eyzies-de-Tayac along the Vézère River, sitting inside a 3-hectare park of poplars, weeping willows, rose bushes, and palms by the outdoor pool. The buildings date from 1862 and have been fully restored by chef-owner Pascal Lombard and his wife Laurence, who blend original stone and oak with a contemporary take on country-house style. The Michelin-starred Le 1862 restaurant is the main draw, backed up by a proper Sothys spa and eco-lodges perched on stilts above the park.
