Why It Matters
The original hotel of Courchevel 1850, with arguably the best ski-in/ski-out address in the resort. Nine jewel-named apartments (all bookable as whole units or broken into smaller suites) with private butlers, chefs, and housekeepers. Home to 2 Michelin-starred Restaurant Sylvestre Wahid.
Courchevel's original hotel, opened in 1948 on the same day as the resort's first ski lift. The building once housed the village post office, bank, tourist office, and ski school — its central location made it the natural hub of the nascent resort. Today it operates as nine private apartments (142–300 sqm), each named after a precious stone and designed by French interior designer Jean-Marc Mouchet. It sits ski-in/ski-out on La Croisette, where the main pistes converge, and runs like a private chalet with a full hotel infrastructure: 24/7 butler service, a 2 Michelin-starred restaurant, a spa with 111SKIN treatments, and an on-site ski shop.
