Les Roches Brunes
Mediterranean minimalist with local soul. Neutral tones — ochre, linen, cream, terracotta — local ceramics, custom cosmetics, and the work of regional craftsmen and artists throughout. Relaxed but quietly refined.

Why It Matters
One of the very few hotels in the Côte Vermeille where every single room, including the bathrooms, looks directly onto the Mediterranean. The on-site restaurant Le Mamma has its own following, and the hotel's relationship with local artisans gives it a genuinely regional character that bigger hotels in the area lack.
Les Roches Brunes clings to a rocky hillside above the Baie de Collioure, about halfway between Perpignan and the Spanish border. Formerly known as Les Caranques, this 18-room hotel was taken over in spring 2021 by Isabelle Courty and Cédric Siré — a local Roussillon couple who gutted and reimagined the whole place. Every room faces the sea. There is no pool, but terraces cascade down to the brown rocks that give the hotel its name, with direct steps into a clear-water cove.
