Little National Newcastle opened in 2024 on Honeysuckle Drive — right on the waterfront precinct, four minutes' walk from the city's main train interchange. It's the third property in DOMA Group's Little National brand after Canberra and Sydney, and the formula carries over faithfully: 181 compact rooms with super king beds, floor-to-ceiling feature windows, Byredo toiletries, and premium in-room coffee. The difference here is Monte Cafe tucked beneath the lobby serving proper brunch, and a two-storey atrium Lounge & Library with harbour views that doubles as a co-working space.

The core room type. At 18sqm it's compact, but the spatial planning is smart — the super king bed dominates (in a good way), a full-height feature window wall opens up the room visually, and the bathroom is properly stocked with Byredo amenities. Views are onto the landscaped courtyard or surrounding city. Soundproofed windows, 55-inch Smart TV, minibar, espresso maker with St Ali pods, T2 teas, safe, and desk. Bathrobes and slippers included. Two guests maximum.
Super King · 18 sqmThe Apartment
Located on floors 3–8, the Apartments are the choice when 18sqm won't cut it. At 36sqm, there's a proper living area with plush furnishings, a well-kitted kitchenette (fridge, dishwasher, microwave), a dining area beside a large window, and a separate bedroom with super king bed. A pull-out sofa bed fits one adult or two children. Views span the harbour and city. Bathrooms feature Byredo amenities, plush towels, and robes. Good option for longer stays or business travellers who want to cook.
