A 4-star boutique hotel in Paris's 6th arrondissement, built in 1856 on the site where Madame de Maintenon is said to have raised Louis XIV's children — one of whom may have been called Louison. Interior designer Anne Peyroux fitted the 41 rooms with Pierre Frey and Casamance fabrics, oak parquet floors, and modern bathrooms. It holds EU Ecolabel certification, offers a complimentary evening aperitif in the lobby every night, and runs a compact wellness room called Le Cocon with yoga, Pilates, and massage.
