Lys Martagon
Art Deco / Art Nouveau maximalism inside a traditional Alpine chalet shell. Intimate to the point of feeling like a very well-appointed private home. More-is-more aesthetic: bold patterns, vibrant pink marble bathrooms, sculptural chandeliers. Not minimalist. Not rustic. Decidedly theatrical.
Ask about full hotel privatization — with just 7 rooms maxing at 20 guests, it's designed for group buyouts.
Why It Matters
One of Courchevel's most intimate luxury properties — only 7 suites, max 20 guests — which can be fully privatized for family or group buyouts. The art collection alone is museum-grade. Chef Sylvestre Wahid helms the restaurant (ALYA'S by SW), and world champion pastry chef Yazid Ichemrahen creates exclusive desserts on-site. The Michelin Guide lists the restaurant as a standout.
Lys Martagon is a former family chalet turned 5-star boutique hotel in the Bellecôte district of Courchevel 1850, with just 7 rooms and suites sleeping a maximum of 20 guests. The place reads more like a private art collection than a ski hotel: Impressionist paintings by Armand Guillaumin, stained-glass ceilings designed by Russian illustrator Pavel Orinianski, and dozens of René Lalique glass objects share space with velvet sofas and metallic wall murals. Ski in, ski out directly onto the Bellecôte slope — one of the most famous runs in the Three Valleys.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
A cultural retreat within the hotel. The common spaces function almost as a private museum — paintings by Impressionist Armand Guillaumin, Sicis glass mosaics, back-lit stained-glass panels by Pavel Orinianski, and René Lalique works throughout. A library is available for quiet time.
On-site partner for ski hire, ski-wear, and high-end ready-to-wear alpine fashion. Expert fitting and advice available before heading out. Rental rates available via the hotel.
Walk out of the private ski room and clip into your skis directly onto the Bellecôte slope, one of the Three Valleys' most iconic runs. The in-house ski room is managed in partnership with Bernard Orcel, a high-end ski rental and fashion specialist. Ski equipment hire and ski pass sales are available on-site.
Equipped with the latest gaming consoles, video games, and a 3D animation system for outdoor use. Board games also available. Nanny service available on request.
Private cinema room for hotel guests. Films screened with popcorn freshly prepared by the chef. A low-key but appreciated amenity after a long day on the mountain.
On-site karaoke for guest entertainment.
Private wine tasting sessions in the hotel's cellar, pairing rare vintages and great producers. An extension of the Prohibition Bar and restaurant experience.
