Why It Matters
Earned its first Michelin star in 2024 (the inaugural year the Michelin Guide arrived in Bodrum), with Executive Chef Aret Sahakyan at the helm of the main restaurant for over two decades. Only roughly one-third of daily visitors are hotel guests — the rest come just for the beach club and restaurants, which tells you something about the dining and beach scene. Maçakızı is a 72-key boutique hotel, beach club, and restaurant rolled into one, set among olive groves and bougainvillea on Göltürkbükü Bay on Turkey's Bodrum Peninsula. Founded in 1977 by the bohemian Ayla Emiroğlu and now run by her son Sahir Erozan, it has evolved from a modest guesthouse into a Michelin-starred destination that draws a fiercely loyal international crowd — without ever losing the family-run soul that made it famous.

At approximately 70 sqm, this is the first tier where you really get the full Maçakızı experience. Türkbükü Bay fills the window, there's a partitioned lounge area, and a separate dressing room. Still a king-size only setup, no twin configuration available.
