Maison Aribert
Alpine chef's home meets thoughtful eco-guesthouse. Warm, intimate, and food-obsessed. Vintage antiques and contemporary art share space with Hästens beds and naturopath-formulated toiletries. No TVs. No pool. Quiet on purpose.
The gastronomic restaurant is only open Wednesday–Sunday (evenings Wed/Thu, lunch+dinner Fri/Sat, lunch only Sunday) — book the restaurant before booking the room.
Why It Matters
One of very few properties in France where you sleep in a two-Michelin-star chef's own house. Just five rooms in the main building and four in the annex — the whole place feels genuinely private. Chef Aribert also holds a Michelin Green Star for environmental responsibility, which makes this a rare combination of gastronomic excellence and real sustainability credentials.
Chef Christophe Aribert took an old chalet in the park of Uriage-les-Bains, gutted it, and turned it into one of France's most personal chef-driven hotel experiences. The property now spans two buildings — the 19th-century Maison Principale with five rooms, and the newer Maison du Chef annex with four Charme rooms — all orbiting a two-Michelin-star restaurant that's the whole reason to make the trip. The eco-commitment here is serious, not decorative: pellet heating, organic cotton linens, a working kitchen garden, waste management systems, and a Michelin Green Star to show for it.
