Founded in 1834 by Johann Friedrich Baptist Messmer, this five-star grand hotel sits directly beside the Kurpark in Baden-Baden — a city that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since it was recognized as one of the Great Spa Towns of Europe. The building is a listed historic structure, part fairy-tale castle, part contemporary grand hotel, and it takes both identities seriously. Royal guests, kaisers, and Lewis Hamilton have all checked in. The Art Deco Royal Spa is the anchor attraction, but the Theaterkeller restaurant and the stately belle-époque Malersaal hall give it serious depth beyond the pool.
