Maison Metier
Residential Parisian guesthouse with New Orleans soul. Art-forward, moody, and genuinely luxurious without feeling stuffy. Think eccentric wealthy friend's house, not corporate hotel lobby.
Evening wine and charcuterie in the Living Room is complimentary, 6–8 p.m. daily — treat it like your pre-dinner ritual
Why It Matters
One Michelin Key hotel (two consecutive years) housed in a beautifully restored 1908 City Hall annex. Interiors by Studio Shamshiri. Access to a secret-entrance cocktail bar (Salon Salon) run by a Parisian consultancy. Part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. Formerly known as Maison de la Luz.
Sixty-seven oversize rooms inside a restored 1908 former City Hall annex in the Warehouse District — and the first thing you notice is how un-hotel-like it feels. The rooms, designed by Studio Shamshiri, lean more Parisian pied-à-terre than luxury corridor: jewel-toned marble bathrooms, Tivoli radios, curated art at every turn, and Grown Alchemist bath products. There's a hidden-door cocktail bar called Salon Salon, complimentary evening wine and charcuterie in the Living Room, and morning coffee delivered to your room. No pool on-site — you cross the street to sister property The Barnett for that — but the trade-off is a genuine residential intimacy that most New Orleans hotels can't touch. Holds One Michelin Key two years running.
